چکیده

We propose a method to stabilize illumination color estimation by using the idea of an “Illumination line segment”. It is a finite line where every illumination color exists in the color space. By restricting the estimated illumination colors to be on this line, the method succeeds in making the estimation more robust and accurate. The method is based on our past work, while it uses direct calculation as opposed to the former method that use an iterative process. Experiments show the effectiveness of our method.

A Chromaticity Space for Specularity , IlluminationColor - and Illumination Pose - Invariant 3 -

Most of the recent color recognition/indexing approaches concentrate on establishing invariance to illumination color to improve the utility of color recognition. However , other eeects caused by illumination pose and specularity on three-dimensional object surfaces have not received notable attention. We present a chromaticity recognition method that discounts the eeects of illumination pose, ...

Thus, the multi-scaled ret...

Illumination Chromaticity Estimation using Inverse-Intensity Chromaticity Space

Existing color constancy methods cannot handle both uniform colored surfaces and highly textured surfaces in a single integrated framework. Statistics-based methods require many surface colors, and become error prone when there are only few surface colors. In contrast, dichromaticbased methods can successfully handle uniformly colored surfaces, but cannot be applied to highly textured surfaces ...

Illumination Color and Intrinsic Surface Properties – Physics - Based Color Analyses from a Single Image –

A consistent color descriptor of an object is a significant requirement for many applications in computer vision. In the real world, unfortunately, the color appearances of objects are generally not consistent. It depends principally on two factors: illumination spectral power distribution (illumination color) and intrinsic surface properties. Consequently, to obtain objects’ consistent color d...

Illumination estimation via nonnegative matrix factorization

The problem of illumination estimation for color constancy and automatic white balancing of digital color imagery can be viewed as the separation of the image into illumination and reflectance components. We propose using nonnegative matrix factorization with sparseness constraints to separate these components. Since illumination and reflectance are combinedmultiplicatively, the first step is t...
